Baseball Recap: Jackson Comes Up Short

If Jackson was riding high fresh off their 14-5 takedown of Southwest DeKalb last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Jackson Jaguars lost 9-1 to the Villa Rica Wildcats on Thursday. The Jaguars haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last eight times they've met.

Pearce Henry was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with two stolen bases.

Jackson now has a losing record of 4-5. As for Villa Rica, their victory was their third straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 7-1.

Looking ahead, Jackson will take on Northgate at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. Northgate will aim to continue their four-game streak of scoring more runs each game than the last. As for Villa Rica, they will welcome Cedartown at 5:55 p.m. on Friday. Villa Rica's pitching crew has only allowed 1.6 runs per game this season, so Cedartown's hitters will have their work cut out for them.
