You can't lose the game if you win every quarter, and that was precisely Santana's strategy against Monte Vista on Tuesday. The Santana Sultans were the clear victor by a 53-28 margin over the Monte Vista Monarchs. The Sultans have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine contests by 21 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Santana to victory, but perhaps none more so than Harper Diaz, who dropped a double-double on 16 points and 14 rebounds. That's the most points Diaz has posted since back in January of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Sam Mora, who put up ten points in addition to eight boards and seven steals.

Monte Vista's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Taylor Mayer, who scored 13 points. Knikole Steward was another key player, putting up eight points.

Santana is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five matches, which provided a nice bump to their 18-5 record this season. As for Monte Vista, they are on a 13-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-19.

Santana has already played their next game, a 38-28 win against Valhalla on the 31st. As for Monte Vista, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 67-21 victory against Mount Miguel on the 31st.
