The Webb Schools comes up short despite Xajani Badkar's dominant performance

It was a good run, but The Webb Schools Gauls unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Thursday. They took a 44-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of Duarte.

When it comes to explaining why The Webb Schools lost, one person who can't be blamed is Xajani Badkar. Despite the final result, she scored 21 points along with six rebounds and five steals. Badkar has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last ten times she's played. Another player making a difference was Pristine Thomas, who scored five points along with 14 rebounds.

Leading Duarte to victory were Selena Banuelos and Crystal Moran. Banuelos scored 14 points, while Moran scored 15 points. That makes it five consecutive games in which Banuelos has scored at least 25% of Duarte's points. Elisa Ramos was another key contributor, scoring six points.

The Webb Schools' loss dropped their record down to 4-7. As for Duarte, their victory bumped their record up to 4-2.
