Recap: Hazleton Area Cougars vs. Dallas Mountaineers

The Hazleton Area Cougars waltzed into their game on Wednesday with 11 straight wins but they left with 12. They came out on top against Dallas by a score of 63-50. Given Hazleton Area's advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 25th, while Dallas is ranked 205th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Hazleton Area's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Alexis Reimold, who scored 17 points along with nine rebounds and four steals. That's the first time this season that Reimold scored 15 or more points. Kaitlyn Bindas was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with five steals.

Hazleton Area's victory was their seventh straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 14-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 64.6 points per game. As for Dallas, their defeat dropped their record down to 3-3.

Coincidentally, Hazleton Area and Dallas will both be playing Berwick the next time they take the court. Hazleton Area will host Berwick at 7:15 p.m. on Monday, while Dallas will host them at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday.
