Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Teresa Rabina and Natalia Sanchez Lead California to Victory

California's game on Wednesday was all tied up 23-23 at the half, but luckily for them it didn't stay that way. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the El Rancho Dons , sneaking past 45-43. This was a revenge game for the Condors: when they faced off against the Dons back in January, they had to take a 56-55 loss.

Leading California to victory were Natalia Sanchez and Teresa Rabina. Sanchez went 8 for 16 on her way to 23 points and seven boards, while Rabina posted 12 points and eight rebounds. The game was Sanchez's fifth in a row with at least 16 points.

El Rancho's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jaylene Sicairos, who put up seven points and six steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ariel Marquez, who went 6 of 11 from beyond the arc en route to 18 points.

California is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 11-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 52.5 points over those games. As for El Rancho, they have been struggling recently as they've lost three of their last four matches, which has put a noticeable dent in their 18-8 record this season.
