Guerin Catholic triumphant thanks to a strong effort from Ava Bills

Recap: Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles vs. Sheridan Blackhawks

The Guerin Catholic Golden Eagles posted their closest victory yet this season on Tuesday. They skirted past Sheridan 40-37. The victory made it back-to-back wins for Guerin Catholic.

Ava Bills was her usual excellent self, scoring 26 points along with seven rebounds and four steals. Her trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. Another player making a difference was Reagan Haines, who scored six points.

When it comes to explaining why Sheridan lost, one person who can't be blamed is Kenzie Garner. Despite the final result, she dropped a double-double on 19 points and 11 rebounds. That was a full 51.4% of Sheridan's points, marking the 12th time in a row she's earned more than a third of the team's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sadie Timme, who scored four points along with six rebounds and three steals.

Guerin Catholic's victory bumped their record up to 9-11. As for Sheridan, their loss ended a five-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 14-4.

Guerin Catholic will head out on the road to challenge Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. Brebeuf Jesuit Preparatory will be looking to extend their current seven-game winning streak. As for Sheridan, they will look to defend their home court on Friday against Delphi Community at 6:00 p.m. Hopefully Delphi Community focused on turnovers this week since the team gave up 18 last Saturday.
