Baseball Game Preview: Glenbrook Apaches vs. Ruston Bearcats

Glenbrook has won four straight games at home, while Ruston has won four straight on the road, but those streaks won't matter much on Tuesday. Glenbrook will welcome Ruston at 6:00 p.m. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

If Glenbrook beats Ruston with five runs on Tuesday, it's going to be the squad's new lucky number: they've won their past two matches with that exact score. Glenbrook's pitcher stepped up to hand Byrd a 5-0 shutout on Friday.

Not much got past Easton Sanders, who gave up just five hits to keep Byrd off the board. Sanders has been nothing but reliable on the mound: he hasn't given up more than two walks in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Ryan Reagan, who went 1-for-4 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. That triple was his first of the season.

Meanwhile, Ruston got the win against Loyola College Prep on Monday by a conclusive 14-3. Considering the Bearcats have won 12 games by more than five runs this season, Monday's blowout was nothing new.

Ruston is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 19-6 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 9.6 runs over those games. Glenbrook's victory bumped their record up to 10-8-1.
