Basketball Recap: Soquel Takes a Loss

Soquel was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight loss. They were a single point away from ending the streak, but they lost a 43-42 heartbreaker at the hands of the Aptos Mariners. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Knights this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 47-32 two weeks ago.

Aptos' win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Eliya Chavez, who posted 11 points. Another player making a difference was Abby Sherwood, who had ten points and eight boards.

Soquel's defeat dropped their record down to 4-10. As for Aptos, they have been performing well recently as they've won three of their last four matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-9 record this season.

Soquel will take on Harbor at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aptos, they will square off against Santa Cruz at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday.
