Winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Athens). They enjoyed a cozy 54-35 victory over the Wellsboro Hornets on Friday. Given the Wildcats' advantage in MaxPreps' Pennsylvania basketball rankings (they are ranked 202nd, while the Hornets are ranked 471st), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Athens' win bumped their record up to 7-3. As for Wellsboro, they have also traveled a rocky road recently having lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 4-7 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Athens will head out to square off against Canton at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. Canton will roll in looking for their fifth straight victory, something Athens surely won't give up without a fight. As for Wellsboro, they will take on Liberty at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
