Soccer Recap: Ironwood Ridge Continues Home Dominance on Wednesday

It can be hard to translate regular season success to the playoffs, but Ironwood Ridge had no problem doing just that on Wednesday. Their defense stepped up to hand the Coconino Panthers a 2-0 shutout. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Nighthawks also won the last time the pair played back in December of 2014.

Ironwood Ridge pushed their record up to 13-3 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only given up three goals over those seven games. As for Coconino, their loss dropped their record down to 12-5.

Coming up, Ironwood Ridge will host Walden Grove at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Walden Grove's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one. Coconino does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
