Basketball Recap: Johansen Takes a Loss

Johansen lost against Ceres back in January of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Johansen Vikings took a blow against the Ceres Bulldogs, falling 64-19. The Vikings were in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 40-13.

When it comes to explaining why Johansen lost, don't look at Danna Singh. Despite the final result, she posted ten points. Singh is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last five games she's played.

Ceres was led to victory by Sovannary Carter and Lilly Staggs. Carter had 20 points, while Staggs put up 14 points. That's the most points Carter has posted since back in November of 2023. Persia Rochell was another key player, putting up six points.

This is the second loss in a row for Johansen and nudges their season record down to 6-10. As for Ceres, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games, which provided a nice bump to their 12-4 record this season.

Johansen has already played their next contest, a 60-33 loss against Pacheco on the 9th. As for Ceres, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next match, a 53-44 win against Lathrop on the 9th.
