Soccer Recap: Mountain Empire Comes Up Short

Mountain Empire was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their fourth straight defeat. They were a single goal away from ending the streak, but they lost a 1-0 heartbreaker at the hands of the River Valley Leopards. The shutout was out of character for Mountain Empire seeing as the last time the team failed to score was back in December of 2025.

Mountain Empire's loss dropped their record down to 3-7-1. As for River Valley, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 7-1-2.

Coming up, Mountain Empire will take on Preuss UCSD at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Mountain Empire will be up against Preuss UCSD's rather soft defense (which has allowed 4.13 goals per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for River Valley, they will face off against King-Chavez Community at 2:45 p.m. on Tuesday.
