Penns Manor skates past West Shamokin with ease

The Penns Manor Comets had already won 12 in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.8 points), and they went ahead and made it 13 on Friday. They blew past West Shamokin, posting a 57-29 victory at home. Penns Manor has made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 13 matches by 23 points or more this season.

Alyssa Altemus continued her habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 21 points along with seven rebounds and two steals. That makes it three consecutive games in which she has scored at least a third of Penns Manor's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Sydney Shaffer, who scored 11 points along with six assists.

Penns Manor's victory was their eighth straight at home, which pushed their record up to 19-3. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 58.8 points per game. As for West Shamokin, they have traveled a rocky road recently having lost four of their last five contests, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-13 record this season.

Penns Manor will be playing at home against United at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. United will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Penns Manor surely won't give up without a fight. As for West Shamokin, they will head out on the road to face off against Karns City at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Karns City presents a significant challenge as they come into the match much higher ranked than West Shamokin in Pennsylvania (Karns City is ranked 177th, while West Shamokin is ranked 417th).
