Recap: Orting Cardinals vs. Clover Park Timberwolves
The Orting Cardinals had already won four in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 29.5 points), and they went ahead and made it five on Thursday. They claimed a resounding 67-6 win over Clover Park at home. The result was nothing new for Orting, who have now won five contests by 28 points or more so far this season.
Orting's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Dominic Thomas led the charge by rushing for 53 yards and a touchdown. Aiden Mendenhall was another key contributor, picking up 31 receiving yards and two touchdowns.
Orting's victory was their fifth straight at home, bumping their overall record up to 8-1. Those victories were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 45.2 points per game. As for Clover Park, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Orting will have some time to savor their win since their next game is a little ways off: they'll take on Enumclaw at 7:00 p.m. on December 22nd. As for Clover Park, they will head out on the road to face off against Foster at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
