Football Recap: Central Christian Picks Up Eighth Consecutive Victory

Central Christian strolled into their game on Friday with a perfect record and they left with the same. They took their game with ease, bagging a 56-0 victory over the Norwich Eagles. The final result isn't all that surprising considering the Cougars' considerable advantage in MaxPreps' Kansas football rankings (they are ranked 16th, while the Eagles are ranked 75th).

It was another big night for Piercen Huff, who rushed for 161 yards and four scores on only 14 carries. He also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass. Another rusher making a difference was Konnor Sullivan, who rushed for 55 yards and one touchdown.

Wins are hard to come by when you can't run the rock, something Central Christian proved: they limited Norwich to a paltry 3.4 yards per carry. The team can thank Cael Kooiman for the heroic effort on defense: he. That's the most yards per carry they've posted since back in November of 2024.

Central Christian didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off three passes before the game was over. The picks came courtesy of Calvin Barnett and Luke Eigsti.

Central Christian's win bumped their record up to 8-0. As for Norwich, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-7.

Coming up, Central Christian will challenge Stafford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. The Cougars will be up against the Trojans' rather soft defense (which has allowed 50.13 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. Norwich does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
