Softball Recap: St. Joseph's Academy Comes Up Short

St. Joseph's Academy fell victim to Oakville and their airtight pitching crew on Monday. They took a 3-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Tigers. The Angels haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team has come up short the last nine times they've met.

Julie Origliasso spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered three runs (all of which were unearned) on five hits.

On the hitting side, St. Joseph's Academy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kennedy Byrne, who went 3-for-4 with one double.

St. Joseph's Academy's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Oakville, they pushed their record up to 6-4-1 with the win, which was their third straight on the road.

Coming up, St. Joseph's Academy will take on Fort Zumwalt North at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Oakville, they will head out to face off against Parkway Central at 4:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The two teams have allowed few runs on average (the Tigers 3.7, the Colts 3.8) so any runs scored will be well earned.
