Basketball Game Preview: O'Farrell Charter Falcons vs. Tri-City Christian Eagles

It'll be Battle of the Birds when the O'Farrell Charter Falcons take on the Tri-City Christian Eagles at 5:30 p.m. on Monday... O'Farrell Charter will be strutting in after a win while Tri-City Christian will be coming in after a defeat.

O'Farrell Charter took a loss when they played away from home two weeks ago, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They managed a 45-39 victory over Southwest SD. The win was some much needed relief for the Falcons as it spelled an end to their three-game losing streak.

Meanwhile, Tri-City Christian played a tough contest on Thursday in which they were outscored in every quarter. They came up short against Escondido Charter, falling 49-24. The Eagles haven't had much luck with the Tigers recently, as the team's come up short the last six times they've met.

O'Farrell Charter will have to contain Katie Busch as she made an impact in Tri-City Christian's last game. She posted eight points along with eight boards and four blocks. Busch has been hot for a while, having posted eight or more boards the last 14 times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Talia Anthony, who went 5 of 9 on her way to 10 points and five steals.

O'Farrell Charter's victory was their ninth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-6. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 19.0 points per game. As for Tri-City Christian, their loss ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 3-2.
