Soccer Recap: Sonora Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

Sonora and Central Catholic squared off in some playoff action on Friday, but Sonora had to settle for second. They fell just short of the Central Catholic Raiders by a score of 2-1. The loss was a bit of a surprise, as the Wildcats came into the game with a sizable advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 291st, while the Raiders are ranked 695th).

Sonora's loss dropped their record down to 11-4. As for Central Catholic, their win bumped their record up to 5-11.

Sonora does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Central Catholic, they will face off against Placer at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Central Catholic's last three contests have been decided by no more than a goal, so don't be surprised if it's a close one.
