Basketball Recap: Rediet Neme's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Preuss UCSD over High Tech NC

Preuss UCSD was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss. They might be feeling deja-vu: they lost 28-27 to the High Tech NC Raptor, which was the same score (and result) they got the week prior. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against the Tritons this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 41-27 back in January.

Preuss UCSD's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Rediet Neme, who posted 16 points. Another player making a difference was Afi Torgby, who scored eight points.

Preuss UCSD's loss dropped their record down to 4-13. As for High Tech NC, the victory was the fourth in a row for them, bringing their record for this year to 9-6.

Preuss UCSD will face off against Ocean View Christian at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Ocean View Christian's defense has only allowed 24.5 points per game this season, so Preuss UCSD's offense will have their work cut out for them. As for High Tech NC, they will square off against Guajome Park Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. High Tech NC is facing Guajome Park Academy at the right time seeing as Guajome Park Academy is stuck on a four-game losing streak.
