Basketball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Zoee Cabral and Natalie Luna Lead Corcoran to Victory

It was a proper cat-fight when Corcoran duked it out withLindsay on Friday. The Corcoran Panthers walked away with a 51-39 win over the Lindsay Cardinals. That's more bragging rights for the Panthers, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

Leading Corcoran to victory were Natalie Luna and Zoee Cabral. Luna posted nine points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Cabral earned 14 points and six boards. Luna has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last four times she's played. Kaelynn Castillo was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Despite the defeat, Lindsay saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Priseis Sanchez dropped a double-double on 12 points and 11 boards. The dominant performance gave Sanchez a new career-high in rebounds. The team also got some help courtesy of Melanie Navarro, who had six points and three steals.

Corcoran is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a massive bump to their 10-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 50.8 points per game. As for Lindsay, they now have a losing record at 9-10.

Corcoran didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 42-23 loss against Strathmore on the 22nd. As for Lindsay, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 51-47 defeat against North on the 18th.
