Basketball Recap: Greater Beckley Christian Takes Loss Despite Strong Efforts from Leah Adkins and Destyni Farrish

After a string of four wins, Greater Beckley Christian's good fortune finally ran out on Monday. They fell 52-44 to the Montcalm Generals. The Crusaders were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Generals earlier this season, when they won 53-31.

Greater Beckley Christian's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Destyni Farrish, who posted 19 points, and Leah Adkins, who earned 14 points. Adkins is also on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last eight games she's played. Another player making a difference was Braelyn Farrish, who scored six points.

Greater Beckley Christian's loss dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Montcalm, their win ended a five-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-7.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Greater Beckley Christian will host Sherman at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Montcalm, they will be playing at home against Meadow Bridge at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
