Basketball Recap: Franklin Comes Up Short

If Franklin was feeling good fresh off their 52-24 takedown of Denair last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Franklin Yellowjackets took a blow against the Fairfield Falcons on Thursday, falling 59-32. The game marked the Yellowjackets' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

When it comes to explaining why Franklin lost, don't look at Carmen Walker. Despite the final result, she went 5 for 10 on her way to 10 points.

Fairfield's victory was a true team effort, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Natalie Chavez, who went 5 of 8 en route to 16 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Alaisha Mathis, who dropped a double-double on ten points and ten boards.
