Softball Game Preview: Hannibal Pirates vs. Louisiana Bulldogs

Hannibal is 0-4 against Louisiana since September of 2015 but things could change on Wednesday. The Pirates will venture away from home to square off against the Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Hannibal has given up an average of 9.7 runs per game this season, but Wednesday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Hannibal is coming in off a wild two-game stretch: after soaring to 13 runs on Thursday, they were much more limited against Moberly on Monday. They lost 14-0 to the Spartans. The contest marked the first time this year in which the Pirates were not able to get on the board.

Meanwhile, Tuesday just wasn't the day for Louisiana's offense. They fell just short of North Callaway by a score of 2-0 on Tuesday.

Hannibal's loss dropped their record down to 2-11. As for Louisiana, they now have a losing record of 3-4.

Hannibal might still be hurting after the 16-5 defeat they got from Louisiana in their previous matchup back in October of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
