Clinch County barely beat Fitzgerald the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Panthers blew past the Purple Hurricane 12-3 on Wednesday. The Panthers haven't had any issues with the Purple Hurricane recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.
Sophie Corbitt was a major factor no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, not allowing a single earned run while striking out eight over seven innings pitched. Corbitt was also big at the plate, going 2-for-5 with one run and one RBI.
In other batting news, Addy Barber was incredible, going 4-for-5 with two RBI, one run, and one double. Another player making a difference was Briley Brown, who went 3-for-4 with two RBI and one double.
Clinch County's record is now 6-1. As for Fitzgerald, their loss was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 1-6.
Coming up, Clinch County will welcome Lanier County at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Fitzgerald, they will head out to take on Turner County at 5:30 p.m. on Monday.
