Basketball Recap: Vacaville Christian Piles Up the Points Against Highlands

There's no place like home for Vacaville Christian, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Friday. They blew past the Highlands Scots 51-4 on Tuesday. The Falcons have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 contests by 25 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Vacaville Christian to victory, but perhaps none more so than Danielle Ruff, who dropped a double-double with 13 points and 18 boards. With that strong performance, Ruff is now averaging an impressive 8.4 rebounds per game. Elena Vizcay was another key player, putting up ten points in addition to seven boards and six steals.

Vacaville Christian smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 31 offensive boards. That's the most offensive rebounds they've managed all season.

Vacaville Christian has been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five games, which provided a nice bump to their 16-10 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 21.4 points over those games. As for Highlands, their defeat was their 11th straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-21.

Looking ahead, Vacaville Christian will challenge Rio Vista at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Highlands, they will take on San Juan at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Highlands is facing San Juan at the right time seeing as San Juan is stuck on a six-game losing streak.
