Football Recap: Concordia Takes a Loss

Friday just wasn't the day for Concordia's offense. They had to suffer through a 48-0 loss at the hands of the Rock Creek Mustangs. The Panthers have struggled against the Mustangs recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive lost matchup.

Drake Blochlinger threw for 135 yards on 12 of 18 attempts. Ayden Krier was his top target, picking up 86 receiving yards.

Rock Creek's win on Friday was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Luke Skinner, who picked up 135 receiving yards and three TDs, and also rushed for 74 yards. Skinner got the majority of those receiving yards when he pulled down a pass and took off for a gain of 70 yards. Tate Smith was another key player, having thrown for 335 yards and five touchdowns.

Concordia now has a losing record of 3-4. As for Rock Creek, the victory keeps them at an undefeated 7-0.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming matchups. Concordia will square off against Norton on Friday. The Panthers will be up against the Bluejays' rather soft defense (which has allowed 40.57 points per contest), so fans could be in store for a big offensive performance. As for Rock Creek, they will take on Chapman at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The Irish will aim to continue their three-game streak of scoring more points each game than the last.
