Basketball Recap: Everett Alvarez Comes Up Short

Everett Alvarez was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They came up short against the Alisal Trojans, falling 50-29. While losing is never fun, the Eagles can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 1013th, while the Trojans are ranked 270th).

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Alisal to victory, but perhaps none more so than Aileen Gonzalez, who posted 14 points. Gonzalez is trending in the right direction considering she's improved her point production for three straight games. The team also got some help courtesy of Yarit Rodr?guez Rodr?guez, who scored eight points and seven assists.

Everett Alvarez's loss dropped their record down to 2-9. As for Alisal, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 11-6.

Everett Alvarez didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 77-28 defeat against Hollister on the 24th. As for Alisal, they also wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next matchup, a 49-44 loss against Watsonville on the 24th.
