Softball Recap: Platteview Takes a Loss

If Platteview was riding high fresh off their 9-3 takedown of Ashland-Greenwood last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Trojans fell just short of the Cass Wildcats by a score of 11-9 on Tuesday. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Platteview saw six different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Khloe Hartman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one stolen base. Another was McKenna Myers, who went 1-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Platteview has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-3 record this season. As for Cass, the victory snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 2-7 record.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Platteview will welcome Ralston at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Rams' pitching crew has only allowed three runs per game this season, so the Trojans' hitters will have their work cut out for them. As for Cass, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Arlington at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. This will be the Wildcats' first chance to prove their worth in the conference.
