The San Juan Spartans lost against the Golden Sierra Grizzlies back in January, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. San Juan was just a bucket shy of victory and fell 36-35 to the Grizzlies.

Golden Sierra was led to victory by Gracey Nordby and Skyler Tory. Nordby scored 13 points along with five rebounds and five steals, while Tory scored four points along with 30 rebounds and two steals. Tory hasn't dropped below 11 rebounds for seven straight games.

San Juan's defeat dropped their record down to 1-16. As for Golden Sierra, their victory bumped their record up to 7-12.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. San Juan will face off against the Rams at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing is sure in Rio Vista's favor as the team sits on six straight wins at home while the Spartans have been banged up by ten consecutive losses on the road. Golden Sierra's road trip will continue as they head out to face the Spartans at 6:00 p.m. on February 6th. Esparto is coming into the match on a five-game losing streak.
