Harrison had won seven straight on the road, but on Monday they bumped up to 23-4 to make it eight. They narrowly escaped with a win as the team sidled past the Cartersville Hurricanes 9-7. The Hoyas have seen this before: they got the W the last time they saw the Hurricanes, too.

As for Cartersville, their loss ended an 18-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 25-3. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat they have suffered since August 28th.

For Cartersville's part, Lakiaya Banks made the most of her time in the batter's box despite the final result and went 3-for-5 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI. Another player making a difference was Kinsey Woodard, who went 3-for-4 with two runs, two doubles, and one RBI.
