Softball Recap: Lincoln Southeast Starts Season with Victory Against Lincoln High

Lincoln Southeast had to kick off their season on the road on Thursday, but they showed no ill effects. They were the clear victors by a 10-2 margin over the Lincoln High Links. That's more bragging rights for the Knights, who also won the pair's last head-to-head.

The team relied heavily on Raina Waller, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, six RBI, and two runs. Those six RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kacee Harriman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, one triple, and one stolen base.

Lincoln Southeast always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .625. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lincoln High only posted an OBP of .267.

Looking ahead, Lincoln Southeast will head out to challenge Standing Bear at 7:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Lincoln High, they didn't take long to hit the field again: they've already played their next game, a 10-2 loss against Omaha Central on the 22nd.
