Baseball Recap: Gatewood Find Success

Gatewood extended their postseason success on Friday against Trinity Christian. They came out on top against the Crusaders by a score of 5-1. The victory continues a trend for the Gators in their matchups with the Crusaders: they've now won eight in a row.

Walker Roberts spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on four hits and racked up 13 Ks. He has been consistent recently: he hasn't given up a single earned run in four consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Lawson Moore, who went a perfect 4-for-4 with one home run, one stolen base, and two RBI. Those four hits gave him a new career-high. Jayden Moss was another key player, going 1-for-3 with one home run.

Gatewood's win bumped their record up to 23-10. As for Trinity Christian, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 19-9.

As of now, neither Gatewood nor the Crusaders have any future games scheduled.
