Football Recap: Cedar Vale/Dexter Takes a Tough Playoff Loss

It's hard to turn regular season success into postseason wins, a fact Cedar Vale/Dexter can now relate to. They came up short against the Flinthills Mustangs on Thursday, falling 48-28. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Mustangs earlier this season, when they won 50-36.

Cedar Vale/Dexter lost despite a true team effort on offense. The best among them was Easton Cole, who picked up 155 receiving yards and a pair of scores. Royce Potter also helped with two touchdowns in total.

Beau Hall was his usual excellent self, rushing for 301 yards and four TDs while picking up 7.7 yards per carry for Flinthills. Those 301 rushing yards gave Hall a new career-high.

With the defeat, Cedar Vale/Dexter broke their five-game winning streak and moved their record to 7-2. As for Flinthills, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 5-4.

Cedar Vale/Dexter does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Flinthills, they will venture away from home to take on Sylvan-Lucas on Friday. Flinthills will need to watch out since Sylvan-Lucas has now posted at least 31 points every time they've taken the field this season.
