Volleyball Recap: Thoreau Comes Up Short + How To Watch

Thoreau was the 3-1 winner over Newcomb when they last played one another back in September, but their luck changed this time around. The Hawks fell just short of the Skyhawks by a score of 3-2 on Tuesday.

Colleen Moses-Perry paced Thoreau's offense, picking up 11 kills. Moses-Perry got some help from Keira Begay and her 28 assists. Begay was also solid from the service line: she led the team with eight aces.

Thoreau's loss dropped their record down to 7-11. As for Newcomb, their victory ended a 13-match drought on the road dating back to last season and puts them at 3-14.

We've got plenty of inter-district action coming up soon. Thoreau is set to challenge their familiar foe Navajo Prep at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Newcomb will square off against rival Wingate at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday.
