Two dominant signal callers in Enoch Niblett and Joseph Janney are getting ready to go toe-to-toe. The Marshfield Pirates are taking a road trip to square off against the Henley Hornets at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Both teams are coming into the game red-hot, with Marshfield sitting on eight straight victories dating back to last season and Henley on three.
On Friday, Marshfield blew past Hidden Valley, posting a 37-8 win. The Pirates' offense checked out after the first half but had enough points banked to take the game anyway.
On the defensive side of the ball, a lot of the credit has to go to Marshfield's defense and their five sacks. Kaleb Fox refused to say out of the backfield, picking up 1.5 sacks all by himself. Marshfield got some further help from Dakota Brophy: he picked up a sack, forced one fumble, and made seven total tackles (1.5 for loss).
Meanwhile, Henley humbled Ashland with a 42-13 victory. The score at the end of the third wound up being the final score as the Hornets just coasted through the last quarter.
Marshfield better keep an eye on Jeremiah Brunick. He was instrumental in Henley's win, rushing for 188 yards and three scores on only 14 carries. Brunick didn't just play on offense: he also forced one fumble, made one tackle, and defended one pass. Trapper Cundall helped out on the ground, rushing for 80 yards and a rushing touchdown.
Henley was unstoppable on the ground and finished the game with 314 rushing yards. They are a perfect 3-0 when they've run for more than 200 yards.

Friday's contest might be decided on the ground. Marshfield has been unstoppable on the ground this season, having averaged 235 rushing yards per game. However, it's not like Henley struggles in that department as they've been averaging 234.7 rushing yards. There's a good chance Friday's matchup turns into a tough fight on the ground.
Marshfield was taken down by Henley 49-21 when the teams last played back in October of 2024. Can the Pirates avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
