Baseball Recap: Dieterich Beats Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] for Their Third Straight Win

With a playoff win on the line, Dieterich rose to the challenge on Monday. They were the clear victors by a 14-4 margin over the Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland] Titans. Winning may never get old, but the Movin Maroons sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Dieterich got a great performance from Lucas Westendorf as he tossed five innings while giving up four earned runs off four hits.

At the plate, Jackson Icenogle was incredible, going 2-for-3 with one home run, five RBI, and two runs. He has become a key player for Dieterich: the team is 2-1 when he posts at least one home run, but 7-12 otherwise. Another player making a difference was Jaxon Funneman, who got on base in all three of his plate appearances with two runs and two RBI.

Dieterich always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .545. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post an OBP of .513 or better.

Dieterich's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 9-13. The home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.0 runs on average over those games. As for Tri-County [Kansas/Shiloh/Oakland], their defeat dropped their record down to 8-14.

As of now, neither Dieterich nor the Titans have any future games scheduled.
