Softball Recap: Make It Four in a Row for Coffee

Coffee had already won three in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6.3 runs) and they went ahead and made it four on Tuesday. Everything went their way against the Thomas County Central Yellow Jackets as they made off with an 11-4 win. For the Trojans, this counts as revenge for the 6-2 victory the Yellow Jackets walked away with the last time they faced one another back in October of 2024.

Kanlee Douglas spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't given up more than two walks in five consecutive appearances.

On the hitting side, Karlee Thomas was a standout: she went 3-for-4 with three runs, two RBI, and one double. That's the most runs she has posted since back in August. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Winters, who went 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and one stolen base.

Coffee's win bumped their record up to 11-4. As for Thomas County Central, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last eight games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 9-7 record this season.

Coffee will have a chance to go back-to-back against Thomas County Central: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
