Softball Recap: Albany Picks Up Fourth Straight Win at Home

Albany never let their opponents score on Thursday. They blew past the Milan Wildcats 10-0. The result was nothing new for the Warriors, who have now won 13 games by nine runs or more so far this season.

Not much got past Makena Moffat, who gave up just four hits and racked up 14 Ks to keep Milan off the board. Moffat has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in 15 consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Maddix Epperly, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one RBI. That's the most runs she has posted over her last 11 matchups. Another player making a difference was Whitney Sterkis, who went 2-for-4 with three RBI and one run.

Albany pushed their record up to 23-4 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home. Those home wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 0.3 runs on average over those games. As for Milan, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 1-9.

Albany wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next contest, an 11-0 defeat against Marceline on the 11th. As for Milan, they will square off against Pattonsburg at 5:00 p.m. on Monday.
