            Softball Recap: Manchester Blue Devils vs. Kendrick Cherokees        
        
		
        
        
            Manchester came into Thursday's   contest having lost 11 straight, but that streak is now in the rearview. They never let the Kendrick Cherokees get on the board and left with  a   20-0  win  on Thursday. The Blue Devils' offense finally found a way to get into gear: the high-octane performance was a 180-degree turn from their last six games.
 Jamaria Sheffield made a splash while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound,   striking out six batters over  three innings while giving up   no  earned runs or  hits. She has been consistent: she hasn't  given up  more than two  hits in six consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate,  going 1-for-3 with two  runs, one  double,  and one  RBI. That's the most  runs  she has posted since back in August.
 In other batting news,  Tatianna Bartholomew was  incredible,  going a perfect 3-for-3 with one  home run and four  RBI. Those  four  RBI gave  her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of  Layla Kidd, who  went a perfect 1-for-1 with two  stolen bases, two  runs,  and one  RBI.

 Manchester was getting hits left and right  and  finished the game having  posted a batting average of .611. That's the best  batting average they've posted all season.
Manchester's victory bumped their record up to 2-11. As for Kendrick,  they are  on  a  12-game losing streak  (dating back to last season) that has dropped them down to 0-4.
 Both  teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Manchester will take on Bowdon at 5:30  p.m.  on Tuesday. As for Kendrick, they will have a little extra prep time after the  loss as they won't be playing again for a while. They'll take on Carver at 5:30  p.m.  on  the 23rd.
