Soccer Game Preview: Academy of Our Lady of Peace vs. Patrick Henry

The Academy of Our Lady of Peace Pilots will square off against the Patrick Henry Patriots at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace is headed into the game having not lost since December 13 and will look to keep things rolling. They walked away with a 3-1 victory over Coronado on Friday. Given the Pilots' advantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 17th, while the Islanders are ranked 416th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Meanwhile, Patrick Henry got the win against La Jolla on Friday by a conclusive 4-1. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 4-0.

Emma Cunningham and Zoe Wehrman scored all four of Patrick Henry's goals, bringing their combined season tally to 11 goals.

Academy of Our Lady of Peace has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won three of their last four contests, which provided a nice bump to their 10-1-3 record this season. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only given up one goal over those four games. As for Patrick Henry, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-6-2.
