Baseball Game Preview: Clarke Central Gladiators vs. Winder-Barrow Bulldoggs

For the second straight game, Clarke Central will face off against Winder-Barrow. The Gladiators will head out to face off against the Bulldoggs at 5:55 p.m. on Wednesday.

Clarke Central fell victim to Winder-Barrow and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They fell just short of the Bulldoggs by a score of 1-0. The Gladiators' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Macon Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered a run (which was unearned) on three hits and racked up eight Ks. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in six consecutive appearances.

The win (which was Winder-Barrow's eighth in a row) raised their record to 14-5. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.8 runs over those games. As for Clarke Central, their loss dropped their record down to 12-12.
