Soccer Recap: Cook Comes Up Short

The Cook Hornets lost 5-1 to the Pierce County Bears on Friday. While losing is never fun, the Hornets can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Georgia soccer rankings (they are ranked 281st, while the Bears are ranked 24th).

Cook's goal came courtesy of Alan Garcia, who's now up to five this season.

Cook dropped their record down to 2-6 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Pierce County, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 6-1.

Cook has already played their next matchup, a 4-0 victory against Bacon County on the 11th. As for Pierce County, they also didn't take long to hit the pitch again: they've already played their next contest, a 2-2 draw against Lowndes on the 11th.
