Preview: Elk Grove Thundering Herd vs. Davis Sr. Blue Devils
The Elk Grove Thundering Herd will head out on the road to face off against the Davis Sr. Blue Devils at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. Elk Grove has now lost 15 straight, and the team is hunting for their first win since December 7.
Elk Grove suffered their biggest loss since January 6th on Wednesday. They had to suffer through a rough 56-14 loss at the hands of Pleasant Grove. Elk Grove was in a tough position after the first half, with the score already sitting at 35-8.
Nyla Kieu was Elk Grove's leading scorer, having posted five points.
In what's become a running theme this season, Davis Sr. gave their fans yet another huge win on Thursday. They took their game at home with ease, bagging a 67-22 victory over Laguna Creek. Given Davis Sr.'s advantage in MaxPreps' California basketball rankings (they are ranked 276th, while Laguna Creek is ranked 853rd), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.
Elk Grove's defeat was their seventh straight at home, which dropped their record down to 3-17. As for Davis Sr., they are on a roll lately: they've won six of their last seven matchups, which provided a nice bump to their 13-10 record this season.
Elk Grove took a serious blow against Davis Sr. in their previous matchup on January 10th, falling 58-14. The match was all but decided by halftime, at which point Elk Grove was down 30-10.
