Baseball Recap: Lincoln County's Victory on Friday Extends Winning Streak to Six

Lincoln County had to skate by with only a two-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the seven-run drubbing they dealt Briarwood Academy on Friday. Everything went the Lincoln County Red Devils' way against the Briarwood Academy Buccaneers as the Lincoln County Red Devils made off with an 11-4 victory. The Red Devils might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won four matchups by seven runs or more this season.

Garrett Treadwell tossed a big game, striking out six batters over five innings while giving up just two earned (and two unearned) runs off four hits.

At the plate, Russell Gibson was a standout: he went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Bryson Dawkins was another key player, scoring two runs while going 3-for-4.

Lincoln County always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .514. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Briarwood Academy only posted an OBP of .281.

Those victories came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 3.2 runs on average over those games.
