Jackson faced Chaffee in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Fighting Indians lost 8-1 to the Red Devils. The Fighting Indians' defeat signaled the end of their four-game winning streak.

Jackson's loss dropped their record down to 16-8. As for Chaffee, the win (which was their seventh in a row) raised their record to 18-3.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming contests. Jackson will square off against Doniphan at 4:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Chaffee, they will venture away from home to challenge Farmington at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
