Basketball Recap: Del Lago Academy Has No Trouble Against Southwest SD

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Del Lago Academy walked away with it. They took down the Southwest SD Raiders 45-31 on Saturday.

When it comes to explaining why Southwest SD lost, don't look at Jazlyn Martinez. Despite the final result, she posted 11 points.

Del Lago Academy is on a roll lately: they've won four of their last five contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-9 record this season. Those victories came thanks in part to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 24.6 points over those games. Southwest SD's defeat dropped their record down to 17-10.

Coming up, Del Lago Academy will square off against Coronado at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Southwest SD does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
