Softball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Midtown

Midtown entered their tilt with M.L. King on Tuesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 16-4 margin over the Lions. The Knights might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won seven matchups by 12 runs or more this season.

Maggie Morran looked comfortable as she pitched two innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one walk in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Natalie Johnson and Elle Anderson did most of the damage at the plate: Johnson went a perfect 2-for-2 with one home run, two stolen bases, and three runs, while Anderson went 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most hits Johnson has posted since back in September of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Anderson, who went 2-for-4 with two runs, one triple, and one stolen base.

Midtown kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. That's the most hits they've managed all season.

The win got Midtown back to even at 8-8. As for M.L. King, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost three of their last four games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season.

Midtown will head out to face off against Lakeside at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. As for M.L. King, they will look to defend their home field on Thursday against Mays at 7:00 p.m.
