Preview: Independence 76ers vs. Live Oak Acorns
The Independence 76ers will look to defend their home court on Thursday against the Live Oak Acorns at 7:00 p.m. Live Oak took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Independence, who comes in off a win.
On Tuesday, Independence didn't have too much breathing room in their game against Hill, but they still walked away with a 41-36 victory. The win was just what Independence needed coming off of a 62-32 defeat in their prior match.
Independence got their win on the backs of several key players, but it was Ashjeet Kaur out in front who scored 16 points. That makes it three consecutive games in which Kaur has scored at least a third of Independence's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isabella Aquino, who scored 14 points.
Meanwhile, Live Oak was within striking distance but couldn't close the gap on Tuesday as they fell 47-41 to Del Mar.
Independence's win ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 11-8. As for Live Oak, their defeat dropped their record down to 13-5.
