Softball Recap: Syracuse Takes a Loss

Syracuse extended their losing streak to five on Saturday, dropping them down to 5-19. They took a 7-4 hit to the loss column at the hands of Logan View/Scribner-Snyder. Unfortunately, that's the second time they've come up short against Logan View/Scribner-Snyder this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 11-1 on Monday.

Syracuse saw eight different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Kathleen Donovan, who went 1-for-2 with two runs. Mataya Petersen also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 16-8 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.6 runs on average over those games.

On Logan View/Scribner-Snyder's side, Rachel Purvis was excellent, going 1-for-3 with two runs, two RBI, and one double. Kinley Osborn was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two RBI and one run.

Coming up, Syracuse will look to defend their home field on Monday against Falls City at 5:00 p.m. As for Logan View/Scribner-Snyder, they will face off against Cass at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.
