Southport hit Triton Central with a four-run fifth inning on Wednesday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Tigers fell just short of the Cardinals by a score of 6-5.

Triton Central saw seven different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Ty Bergman, who went 2-for-4 with two runs. Bergman is becoming a predictor of the Tigers' success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 3-1 (and 4-15 when he doesn't).
